Why Have an On-Site Dental Laboratory?
Good dentistry is a result of a close collaboration between different dental professionals including dental technicians. Whenever you need a restoration to be hand crafted, your prescription and dental impressions will be sent to a dental laboratory. Technicians follow the dentist’s instructions very closely, but when a technician is able to physically talk to your dentist or can even meet with you then this can make an enormous difference to the final standard of work.
Our on-site dental laboratory is located at our Dingley practice and is used to fabricate removable prosthetics (dentures), and it services our other general needs. There is an independent orthodontic laboratory right next door to our Dingley practice. We find it is excellent for providing high-quality orthodontic appliances. The orthodontic lab also offers a quick turnaround and is able to troubleshoot any problems that may arise, or can soon repair a broken brace.
We find having an on-site dental laboratory to be hugely beneficial as our dentists can discuss individual cases with our technicians so requirements are accurately communicated. When needed, our technicians can meet with you in our practice, rather than asking you to travel to a laboratory that may be some distance from home. These meetings can be very useful for accurately taking the shade of your teeth so your new teeth can be closely matched and it can be invaluable when planning larger smile makeovers and where your opinion is even more important.
Are There Any Other Advantages to An On-Site Dental Laboratory?
Once your appointment is completed, our dental laboratory will get to work on making your new restoration immediately so our turnaround times are more efficient and you will get your new teeth that much sooner. If you require any repairs or alterations, perhaps to mend or adjust a denture, we can complete these for you far more quickly and with minimal fuss and disruption to your daily life.
Additionally, we have complete control over the materials in our laboratory, ensuring only the highest quality products are used to make your restorations. We only purchase from reputable dental suppliers and can track all materials and components used to make our high-quality appliances.
